Around the farm
We're still working on Apartment 3 - one of our existing residents is going to move in when it is finished. She's a young student, studying in Leeuwarden - I rarely see her as she is gone early and home late.
Aha! Roofing battens!
...to make the framework
for the breathable blue plastic
Then (leftover) polystyrene foam as insulation - this is an interior wall so we thought it better to use up the old stuff - as it didn't have to be as thick as the exterior walls.
Then the non-breathable yellow plastic
Then the OSB (oriented strand board) as backing for the plaster sheets
These are meant to be for ceilings - but they are a handy size for doing the walls.
On Saturday, I did the painting - now we just have to install a heating radiator, power points and the cornices and skirting boards. Should be finished this week :-)
Almost every day I get mesmerised by the birds flying overhead. Sometimes I can fumble my phone in time...
The formation always gets me - who decides? is there a pecking order? They stay overnight on the pools opposite our place - who gives the order to "take off"? Sometimes there are two or three stragglers usually squawking as if to say "wait for me" - rather whimsical, but they are a delight to see...
