Week 25 A quart into a pint bottle

Week 25

As the finish line gets closer...I simply wonder where all the stuff is going to go...We have people lined up for the apartment(s) and I still have to do a bit of painting. The existing tenants, Mum and 3 kids, are going to move into ours - hopefully we can leave most of the furniture here...now that I'm "nearly 80", I wonder if it's an old people thing...trying to get rid of clutter? (I seem to remember Mum using the "quart into a pint bottle" saying).

Last person on the left looks a bit like I feel...

(reminds me of another saying that I liked..."I'm not comforted by the fact that it's your side of the boat that's sinking").

The Economist is also forecasting a Trump win...they're one of few few news sources that I trust...so I hope they're wrong

Ikea Hacks

Janny looks a lot of stuff up about "Ikea Hacks" - things to do with old (and new) Ikea stuff...

We're off to Assen in a minute to pick up some doors for these cabinets...



...and I have to prepare for a 5 person Sunday Roast, so my routine is shot today :-)

Tjeerd and I spent an afternoon and a morning putting together one Ikea office cabinet...(just as well we didn't have to pay someone to do it!)...


...and then another full day tidying up the garage to make room for the painting.



We got a new handrail for the stairway...(we had to shorten it to fit in the car @3400mm - the price sticker was on the bit that we cut off about 50mm - the young guy looked at Janny and said is that right? €42,00 for that small bit? - I was standing behind Janny with the long bit - so we all had a chuckle and moved on).



New floor for the upstairs landing...

Waterproofed wet area for the bathroom - the floor tiles get laid tomorrow...




Sunday roast....now for the Sunday nap :-)



I got some mowing and bookkeeping done on Tjeerd's day off - still nearly got bogged, but this week we are expecting mid 20's, so I'll get to do it all again...

The latest assessment by motoring organisation ANWB finds that electric cars cost almost 76 cents a kilometre to run, taking in the cost of fuel, maintenance, wear on tyres and depreciation.
