Week 7 More of the same

Week 7 More of the Same More insulation in our apartment First remove the heating Framework for "breathable" membrane Then thicker framework to house the insulation Then "non-breathable" membrane - with joints also sealed Then cover it all with  Oriented Strand Board (OSB)  as backing for the plaster sheets Mini compressor to staple the OSB - I bought it for the boat, but it is very handy here as well Have to put the plaster in next week - and dress the windows - just enough room for the 2100mm beds! It's a much longer job than it looks - but luckily we have no pressure to get the heating back on - it's not freezing and we normally sleep without heating in any case - it's more to keep the "whole" at a constant temperature to avoid condensation and/or mildew. I damaged my jigsaw a few weeks ago so I managed to convince Janny that I needed a new one :)) I've mostly had "hobby" tools but over the last few years I have upgraded to the...

Week 6 A "surprise" birthday dinner at our local restaurant. Just with Janny's brothers and sisters - and Janny's Mum. The last chap who did the certification had wondered about the "regulations" because, strictly speaking, the gas bottles have to be "outside" in the new regs. But he ended up acknowledging that our installation is far better than many he had seen - he checked ...

Raúl Torrez says he believes Meta is the “largest marketplace for predators and paedophiles globally”. “Nothing you love is lost. Not really. Things, people—they always go away, sooner or later. You can’t hold them, any more than you can hold moonlight. But if they’ve touched you, if they’re inside you, then they’re still yours. The only things you ever really have are the ones you hold inside your heart.” An eventful week... I'm not sure why, but we had lots of geese? flying over...I'm always too fumbly to get a decent photo but it really is something to see. I remember reading somewhere that they are 70% more efficient by flying in formation. On Monday, Tjeerd and I cleared away the dirt from the foundations...I had to put an extra bag of cement and a concrete block on the front of my "little" tractor! Our first drawin...
